A3 folded to A4 or three narrower sizes
An A3 folded brochure is a 297mm x 420mm sheet printed full colour and folded to A4 or to one of three narrower formats. It is the brochure for a company profile, a property brochure, a newsletter, a large menu or a map, where an A4 sheet would be too small to open out.
Four folds
- Fold to A4, 210mm x 297mm: one fold giving a four page A4 brochure or newsletter.
- Fold to 140mm x 297mm: two folds giving six tall panels, a wide tri fold.
- Fold to 105mm x 297mm: three folds giving eight tall panels, for a map or a long list.
- Fold to 148mm x 210mm: two folds, once each way, giving an A5 sized brochure that opens to A3.
Paper and sides
Choose 130gsm gloss, which folds cleanly and keeps the cost down on a large run, or 170gsm gloss, which is stiffer and holds its fold on a table or in a rack. Both are printed full colour. Print one side or both; a brochure is nearly always printed both sides, because the inside is the point of folding it.
Designing for the folds
Design at the flat A3 size with the panels marked. On the folds to A4 and A5 the inside opens to a full A3 spread, so a large picture or a plan can run across the whole inside. Keep type 5mm from every fold and ask for the template for the multi panel folds.
Quantities

Artwork
Supply a print ready PDF at the flat size with 3mm bleed, at 300dpi and in CMYK, with the panels set to the fold widths. Ask us for a fold template before you start and we email one. We check every file before printing. For design, ask through the bespoke quotation form.
Turnaround, delivery and VAT
Choose 3 or 4 working days when you order; orders approved before 2pm start that working day. Free delivery anywhere in Ireland, north and south, on every order. Prices are shown ex VAT. Brochures are advertising matter, so VAT is added at the checkout at 13.5%.
