Eight pages folded to DL

An 8pp DL brochure is a 396mm x 210mm sheet folded twice to 99mm x 210mm, giving eight printed pages, four each side. It is the leaflet for a menu with starters, mains and desserts, a service guide with room to explain, or a programme with a timetable, all in a DL envelope.

Two folds to choose from

• Half and half, also called a roll fold: the panels fold in on each other and the brochure opens page by page like a small book.
• Concertina, also called a zig zag: the panels fold alternately and the whole sheet opens out flat in one pull, which suits a timetable or a map.

Paper and sides

Choose 130gsm gloss, which folds cleanly and keeps the cost down on a large run, or 170gsm gloss, which is stiffer and holds its fold on a table or in a rack. Both are printed full colour. Print one side or both; a brochure is nearly always printed both sides, because the inside is the point of folding it.

Designing for the folds

Number the panels before you design, because on a roll fold the inner panel is 2mm narrower than the others so it tucks in. Ask for our fold template and it is marked. Put the cover on the panel that faces out when folded and the contact details on the one that faces back.

Quantities

From 500 copies to 50,000, priced per thousand with the rate falling as the quantity rises. The other sizes are on the folded brochures page. For a flat sheet with no fold, see the flyers.

Artwork

Supply a print ready PDF at the flat size with 3mm bleed, at 300dpi and in CMYK, with the panels set to the fold widths. Ask us for a fold template before you start and we email one. We check every file before printing. For design, ask through the bespoke quotation form.

Turnaround, delivery and VAT

Choose 3 or 4 working days when you order; orders approved before 2pm start that working day. Free delivery anywhere in Ireland, north and south, on every order. Prices are shown ex VAT. Brochures are advertising matter, so VAT is added at the checkout at 13.5%.
