Complete Guide: Paper Printing

With so many options available for online paper printing, it can be a little tricky to choose the right kind of paper or stock your product needs. To help you understand the lingo, we’ve put together a straightforward paper printing guide that explains the various options and how to print on particular kinds of paper.

Types of Paper:

We provide the following varieties of paper printing:

Silk Paper Printing

115gsm Silk

115gsm Silk

Traditionally, this incredibly thin silk-coated paper has been utilized for low-cost magazine and sales brochure printing in an effort to reduce costs. For further safety, we suggest coating it with a thicker cover!

150gsm Silk

150gsm Silk

The best paper for printing inexpensive flyers is this lightweight variety. Its silk coating gives it a subtle gloss, and its thickness is like a takeout menu. This is perfect if you want to print flyers and pamphlets in large quantities to distribute to clients in your neighborhood.

170gsm Silk

170gsm Silk

Typically, 170gsm silk is chosen for short-term poster printing since it is slightly thicker than a cheap flyer. Although the characteristic lustrous finish associated with silk stocks is still present on this stock, we advise framing posters produced on it to preserve their best quality because of its thinness.

250gsm Silk

250gsm Silk

Similar in thickness to a paperback book cover, this paper is a great midweight option for paper printing, despite being slightly thicker. It’s ideal for distributing information about sales, promotions, and even club nights.

350gsm Silk

350gsm Silk

This card stock works really well for printing high-quality flyers. Aside from being traditionally used for greeting cards, its thickness allows you to create free-standing folded menus. Nonetheless, we suggest using this stock for a variety of marketing materials, such as coupons, for high-end brands.

400gsm Silk

400gsm Silk

Our premium business cards, which are our most recognizable print item, are among the thick cards made from our thickest silk stock. This robust card is the ideal choice for prints you want your customers to have for a long time because it won’t bend or break easily.

Uncoated Paper Printing

90gsm

90 gsm

This paper is thin and uncoated, similar to what you would use in your home office printer. The lack of a silky finish has made the paper somewhat rough to the touch and porous, which makes it extremely absorbent and writable.

120gsm

120gsm

Compared to the 90gsm option, the slightly thicker 120gsm uncoated stock provides less transparency. Because of its more upscale appearance and feel, this makes it a popular option for printing resumes and business letterheads.

160gsm

160gsm

The thickness of the paper lies between a card and a paper which is perfect for high-quality flyers or even orders of service for weddings and funerals, where guests will cherish the print as a memento of the event.

Recycled Paper Printing

350gsm Recycled

350gsm Recycled

A substantial, uncoated sheet whose quality and absorbency of ink corresponds exactly to our traditional uncoated collection. Made entirely of recycled fibers, this slightly rough, writable paper is perfect for a variety of printed goods, such as greeting cards, business cards, and flyers.

3mm/5mm PVC Foam

3mm/5mm PVC Foam

A thin sheet of PVC foam board, commonly used for safety signs, banners, and cutouts. This material is not soft, despite its name; it is firm and rigid. It can be cut and have holes punched in it, and its weight facilitates transportation and installation.

0.85mm Magnetic Vinyl

0.85mm Magnetic Vinyl

This weatherproof, thin, and flexible magnetic stock is simple to affix to the side of your vehicle, van, or truck. Just peel it off for hassle-free removal.

Embellishments

Raised Spot UV

If you select 350gsm or 450gsm stock and matt lamination, the following products can be enriched with our embellishments:

  • Visiting cards
  • Greeting cards
  • Flyers
  • Folded leaflets
  • Flawlessly bound booklets
  • Folders for presentations

This less expensive embellishment option involves applying a standard single layer of spot gloss to certain areas of your design, making your design almost flat on the card. This is a great way to add interest to your paper print, even if you are on a tight budget!

Raised Spot UV

This option will result in a double dose of spot gloss applied to your print, making the spot UV higher and noticeable. Due to its high visibility, this is the more expensive (and most preferred) choice.

Foil

Foiling is a finishing technique that involves binding a thin layer of metal (foil) to paper or card using heat, pressure, and glossy UV light. Foiling is frequently used for wedding stationery and premium business print to produce an eye-catching and superior finish.

Applying it to particular areas of a design instead of the entire thing allows you to use it to draw attention to text or logos set against a contrasting matt background.

Foil comes in the following color options:

  • Silver
  • Copper
  • Gold
  • Red
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Holographic
